Concrete polishing can create anything from a satin to a beautiful high gloss finish that never needs waxes or coating. The process is highly versatile enabling your own desired shine and smoothness to be achieved. The colour of the concrete floor will, of course, be determined by the original concrete mix.
The level of sheen is a multistep process and you can choose the level of sheen although to be honest, the final result is determined upon the quality of your concrete and the amount of time (money) you would like to spend to achieve a finer and finer result. It can be left as a satin finish, working up to an 800 or 1500 grit level and can go through all the further stages and up to a 3000 grit level for the optimum highly polished, gloss finish.
Due to recent advances in polishing equipment and techniques, the demand for our polished concrete is growing fast globally.
The technique is extremely ingenious and at Polycote, we have a fully trained and experienced contractor team with proven concrete polishing experience and knowledge.

Important points:
a) The time spent achieving a uniform finish will be determined by the flatness of the floor. If there are a lot of humps, these will have to be removed. Alternatively, holes have to be filled or the concrete ground down to the level of the deepest hole.
b) If the top surface is weak, this level has to be removed down to where the concrete is hard enough to be polished.
c) In most cases all cracks, repairs, delaminating and dusting surfaces can be repaired, but please remember that these will unfortunately nearly always show in the final polished finish.Further information on the application procedure can be found in our Concrete Polishing pdf (download under the Specification tab).
