A methacrylate based high build resin floor coating – fast curing even at –40°C.
- Initial cure 60-90 minutes – minimal downtime
- Cold store grade (CSG) cures at –40°C to 0°C
- Ideal for industrial refrigerators and freezer floors
- Withstands heavy forklift traffic, etc.
Flortex® MC is an extremely hard-wearing methacrylate based high build resin floor coating. It can be applied at very low temperatures and cures with outstanding rapidity, enabling application with minimal downtime. Two grades are available: Flortex® MC Standard for fast curing at normal temperatures; and Flortex® MC CSG for temperatures down to –40°C. Please specify when ordering.
Typical Uses
Flortex® MC is suitable for almost any floor coating situation, particularly where rapid installation and long-term durability are paramount. Flortex® MC CSG is primarily used in cold stores and industrial refrigerators and freezer floors.
Suitable Substrates
Flortex® MC CSG is designed for application to concrete surfaces.
Colour
Flortex® MC CSG is available in a range of 7 colours.
Packaging
Flortex® MC CSG is supplied in pre-measured quantities as a three-part system, comprising of a 5 litre unit of acrylic resin Part ‘A’, a powder hardener Part ‘B’, plus a separate pigment pack Part ‘C’.

Cure time: 60-90 minutes. Very low temperatures will extend the curing time.
Full strength cure time: 7 days
Number of parts supplied: 3
Coverage: between 15-20m² per 5 litre unit, depending on the texture and porosity of the substrate.
Primer required: The substrate should be prepared and primed with Polycote MC Primer CSG. See relevant Data Sheet for full recommendations on preparation and priming.
Please consult the technical data sheet for full technical product data.
Surface Preparation
The substrate should be prepared and primed with Polycote MC Primer. See relevant Data Sheet for full recommendations on preparation and priming.
Mixing
BEFORE MIXING THIS PRODUCT YOU MUST BE TOTALLY PREPARED for rapid uninterrupted
application of the complete mixed quantity WITHIN 15 MINUTES.
Thoroughly shake the bottle of resin to ensure total dispersion of the contents (ensure the wax is fully mixed especially when temperature is low), then pour into a clean, plastic bucket. Add the powder pigment and stir thoroughly using a heavy-duty slow speed drill with mixing paddle for 2-4 minutes. When the pigment is fully dispersed add the powdered Hardener and disperse.
Note: Only add the powder hardener to the MC resin (part A) AFTER it has been fully mixed with the pigment, otherwise this could cause a violent chemical reaction.
ENSURE THOROUGH MIXING AS AN UNMIXED PRODUCT WILL RESULT IN A POOR OR NON-CURE SITUATION.
Application
Once the product is thoroughly mixed, APPLY IMMEDIATELY using a brush or roller, making sure the area is completely covered. Particular attention should be given to doorways and other areas of high traffic. When finished, DO NOT scrape the remaining contents from the container as this will invariably include unmixed raw resin. Remember, this product is extremely fast curing so please ensure that everything is ready before mixing.
Tip: For Cold Store Grade – the workable life of the material will be maximised if it has been stored at a very low temperature (e.g. in the cold store itself) prior to mixing.
Non-slip Applications
For slip resistance, Calcined Bauxite aggregate may be sprinkled into the wet PRIMER. Please refer to MC Primer CSG Data Sheet.
